The Public Market Complex (PMC) built in 2002, epitomizes the hustle and bustle of our West Indian lifestyle and culture. It is ideally located in the center of the city next to communities that are highly populated.  The West Bus Station, a major transportation hub is located opposite the Public Market Complex. As such, the PMC  is considered to the central meeting point in Antigua. At the PMC vegetable and food vendors meet to offer the services provided by a modern commercial market specializing in ground provision, fresh fruits and vegetables, craft and souvenirs, and brand-name shopping.

Next to the PMC is the Craft Market. This facility highlights the indigenous and creative nature of our people. Vendors ply their trade in a consumer-friendly environment offering a wide range of products including locally made crafts such as leather and shell work, crafts made from fish scales, souvenirs, T-shirts, bags, hats, locally made soaps and fragrances, and other items all depicting Antiguan culture and lifestyle. There are also some specialty boutique shops selling brand-name products and services.

The PMC offers “one-stop shopping” facilities. The vegetable market area can hold up to 56 stalls both permanent and semi-permanent. The first floor of the Vegetable market comprises 26
stalls and the upper level 49 units.

The West Bus Station Shops also form part of the Public Market Complex. There, vendors sell a variety of specialty items.
